One of the most enticing elements of the US higher education system is its wide range of institution kinds. As a result, diversification allows students to specialize in a range of academic fields while also having the opportunity to advance their careers.
At CGI, we enjoy the opportunity to provide great advise through our highly skilled counsellors. As a result, we strive to give all of the information you need to pursue higher education in the United States as an international student.
The types of US Student Visas
The United States of America (USA) offers three categories of student visas. There are F, J, and M.
A. F-1 student visa:
To study at a USA-accredited university or college.
B. J-1 exchange visa:
To take part in an exchange program offered by high schools and universities.
C. M-1 student visa:
To take part in training programs, vocational studies, and non-academic programs in the USA.
Before applying for any of the aforementioned visas, you must first apply to and be accepted by a higher education institution in the United States accredited by the Student Exchange and Visitor Program (SEVP). As a result, we can help you obtain a list of all recognized US institutions at the US Department of Education and take you through the process of selecting one that meets your needs. Following acceptance, you will get an I-20 form from the SEVP-certified institution's foreign student office. The form contains all of your information, which will be recorded in the Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS).
